View Full Version : The Official Packers - Lions Gameday Thread, Act 2

We've made it to the last week of the season and are playing the Lions for the NFC North title. Something almost unthinkable 6 weeks ago. Our fearless QB ARod knew it was coming and guaranteed a 6 streak ride.
As poor as the Packer D has been playing the Lion D is even worse. I actually feel bad for the kitties facing ARod during his amazing MVP quality run of play.

sounds about right
I've watched Detroit be very resilient in the fourth quarter this year. Lots of comebacks, lots of toughness in the fourth quarter. Conversely, I've watched the Packers melt like butter in the fourth quarter of many games this year. Detroit jumps out early, Green Bay claws back, butStafford does it again at the end of the game, and threads spring up everywhere tomorrow asking who, exactly, should be fired.

Sorry, wrong thread.

There's never a wrong thread for such a comment.
I'm telling you, Detroit and Green Bay are mirror teams, but Detroit's at home and they're comfortable in the fourth quarter of a close game.

Excuse the broken record, but Packers had 8 days of rest, Loins 6.
You balance that with fact that Pack have Ford Field Phobia. Packers win by exactly 3 points.

This will be now just a very interesting game to watch with no threat of not making the playoffs.
Six games ago it did not look very likely that two NFCN Teams would be in the Playoffs.
I believe the Pack will get it done this evening and win another NFCN Title.

that might turn out being at least a 10 point swing
Yup, even if we don't score on the turnover it takes it to half 7-7.
Gees, how many holds are the going to let DET get away with this half?

they've called one on us on just about every play so far
and people say refs can't decide a game. it would be so easy for the nfl to decide who should win, wwe style

adjustments!
no more blitzing and plug the middle.
problem is that we can't generate any king of pass rush without a blitz
thats what makes me sick of the capers D, other teams get a pass rush with just their front 4, we usually have to send 5 just to get some pressure

It's not a pick within a yard of the LOS.

get a TD here to end the half, then we get the ball to start the second
That idea didn't work out.
That was a horrible defensive series.
Why was Randall out there again?
i saw him out there earlier in the drive too
i guess our super over protective training staff only holds out the good players when they have booboos

Teamcheez1
01-01-2017, 08:53 PM
The defense only gave up 253 yards and 14 points in the first half. They are playing better than usual.
The offense is churning along with 7 points.

Being down 14-10 at the half isn't the end of the world, but we have to play much better in the second half.

Nice kick Mase.
That field goal was a big deal. 4 point game and we start with the ball. Packers coming off long rest week. Lions should be sharp out of the gate, but Packers should feel stronger longer.
Really good game so far. Need to finish it off.

eliminate penalties, move the chains, stop blitzing, jam tate, plug middle.

probably not
but it did show just how stupid mike favorite play is

Packers have been sloppy with the penalties. Having a playoff spot clinched make them lose their focus?
Tolzien? Didn't he sneak on in there when Wallace got hurt?

didn't he start the week after wallace, or did he just finish that game, then flynn jumped ahead of him the next week?

The Seneca Wallace game was a Gold Package game. Tolzien came in and played horrible. Can't remember if we got Flynn signed before the next game or not.

If Matthews catches a ball that hits him in the chest we only give up 7 points in the first half.
We lack guys that can cover receivers. Want a better defense ? Get better players.
