I think the Packers win this one. The Bears are one of the NFL's best teams. The Saints should prove to be a more equal opponent.

A nice distraction post is always good to have at a time like this. I work near the Illinois border and believe me, I have been hearing it all morning. Amazing how these "bears fans" all come out after they beat the packers a few times. Most of them you would never even know were bears fans until they beat us. After that they have been bears fans their whole lives. Funny how I will still wear my old number 4 jersey if they go 0-16.
Anyway, on to the SAINTS. I predict packers 24, saints 14. Favre 2 td 1 int, Green 89 yds 1 td, 4.1 yd avg.

If they don't win this one it could be a very long season 1-15 2-14 me thinks.

SAINTS LOOK TO BUILD OFF OF LAST WEEK'S WIN; TRAVEL TO GREEN BAY TO FACE PACKERS IN WEEK TWO
Ricky Zeller, September 15, 2006, NewOrleansSaints.com
Sep 15, 2006 – 11:00 am
After a stirring 19-14 road victory at the Cleveland Browns in Coach Sean Payton's debut as an NFL head coach, the Saints (1-0) travel to Green Bay (0-1) to take on the Packers at historic Lambeau Field.
Sunday's victory over the Browns marked the second time in club history that a head coach opened his career in New Orleans with a win (Dick Nolan, 1979). It was the 13th time in the club's 40-year history that the Saints notched a season-opening victory.
The win was filled with strong performances by new faces and dependable veterans. RB Deuce McAllister, the club's all-time leading rusher, rebounded from last year's season-ending knee injury to post 90 yards on 22 carries.
Rookie RB Reggie Bush proved that he will be an impact player immediately, rushing for 61 yards, catching a team-high eight passes for 58 yards and returning three punts for 22 yards. Bush had 141 total yards, and hauled in an 11-yard pass from QB Drew Brees for a first down on his first NFL play from scrimmage.
The performances of McAllister and Bush paced a running game that recorded 150 yards.
Brees, the club's biggest free-agent addition of 2006, bounced back from off-season shoulder surgery to complete 17 of 31 for 176 yards and a TD. He found rookie WR Marques Colston a seventh-round pick late in the third quarter for the team's lone touchdown. Colston, who joined G Jahri Evans and S Roman Harper as rookie starters for New Orleans, had four grabs for 49 yards and the TD in his first NFL game.
But it may have been the defense that made the biggest impression.
Under the guidance of new defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs, the unit only surrender 186 net yards (85 rushing, 101 passing). The Browns' initial first down came with 2:33 remaining in the second quarter. The defense was paced by the play of the defensive front, particularly DT Brian Young, who posted a career-high three sacks and a fumble recovery. DE Will Smith expected to be a leader of the unit after recording 16 sacks and seven forced fumbles as a part-time player in his first two seasons notched a sack and five stops.
Of the linebackers, free-agent acquisition LB Scott Fujita had six tackles and an interception with a 19-yard return. The entire linebacker corps has been reborn, with LB Scott Shanle and MLB Mark Simoneau.
K John Carney turned in another stellar performance, a hallmark of his stint in New Orleans since 2001. He had four field goals and accounted for 13 of the Saints' 19 points.
Despite the series opening in 1968, this will be only the third time that New Orleans has visited Lambeau Field the first time in 1989, as well as in 2002 and 2005. New Orleans is 1-2 at Lambeau, including a 35-20 win in 2002. The other contests in the series were held at Milwaukee County Stadium from 1968-85. Overall, the Packers lead the series 14-5.
GO PACKERS !

Ok, I'm gonna say Koren is really gonna help our team today on the KR front. If he can get us starting at the 30 or farther, instead of starting at the 20 each time, then that will affect this offense in a positive way.
Of course, if we still can't get the ball across midfield, than it doesn't matter, but we're playing against the Saints, not the Bears, so I'm more confident in that area.

Not true, New Orleans has never won at Lambeau Field. The 2002 game was in New Orleans at the Super Dome with Mike McCarthy as OC for the Saints. Saints get another chance (3rd only thus far) today, sunday. GO PACK GO

News: RB/KR Aaron Stecker was inactive Sunday because of a sprained ankle, but is expected to be ready for Sunday's game with the Green Bay Packers. FS Bryan Scott, who starts in the dime, did not play Sunday because of a hamstring injury and will be questionable for the Packers. Analysis: SS Omar Stoutmire started in the dime in place of Bryan Scott when the Saints went to six defensive backs and will likely fill that role again this week. DT Rodney Leisle did not play Sunday because of a sprained right medial collateral ligament, but should be read to return soon. CB DeJuan Groce did not play Sunday because of a hamstring injury. Payton said he's improving, but his return is not known. LS Kevin Houser has a finger injury, but should be OK for the game with the Packers.

My only chance to see it is to go to Bottoms Up sports bar where they have the NFL Ticket and hope that there are a few Packer fans there, so we can get it on one of the big screens. Otherwise, I could listen on my PC and chat here. Does anyone know where I can go to hear the game on my PC? Ill be waiting here for a response. Thanks.

Interesting matchups:
The Packers have to game plan for Bush, i.e. they're going to have to be very careful about getting caught in mismatches.
If Payton has half a brain, and I think he does, he'll be looking to create matchups with Poppinga vs. Bush in coverage. Be it with formation or motion, the Packers are going to have to be very aware of how they're matching up in coverage.
Assuming that Bush and McAllister will be on the field together quite a bit, that makes it difficult to play the nickel on 1st and 2nd down. The Saints don't have a very strong line, however, and the Packers are fairly stout at DT... the Packers have a good chance of containing the Saints if the DT's can control the LOS.

Did you guys see my boy "Nick Collins" rip Reggie Bush to the fuking ground? There will be some TO's....Hawk, Collins and Kampman are going to make things happen.
Collins got his hand on that pass. He made a play that the QB didn't think was possible. Hawk has made a couple and then that tough, ball jarring tackle.
These are the things that make a difference in games. These are the things that put W's on the board. It's not 7th best in yards, it's 10th in yards with top 10 in turnovers. Big plays, playmakers make the difference in games. We finally seem to have a couple guys who can make the big plays a couple times a game.
