"Unfortunately this week I have been ruled out of returning for the 2014/15 season and returning to play in the NFL.

The way it's written is confusing as to him being out for the season or forever, but forever seems more likely. Sad to end this way, but hopefully it won't impact him in any future career. Hope he saved what he could from his signing bonus. Unfortunately what his little time with the Packers will be remembered for is one game that he ran well but fumbled away the game at the end.

I'm definitely glad that he had an idea of what he wanted to do after football, but not this way. Sounded like he wanted to try to make a big difference in his hometown, would have been nice if he had established a platform on which to do it.
