Actually, Coston was better than Colledge. Maybe. Spitz had settled into full-time starting duty, and Coston and Colledge were battling for the other spot."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Uh, the team went 13-3 this year, people.Originally posted by PaCkFan_n_MDImagine what we could accomplish this year if we had the 2003 o-line with this team.Originally posted by hurleyfanCoston was better than Spitz, that's why he kept getting chances.. The whole offensive line has been un-settled the entire year..Originally posted by highlanderHell of alot better than Favre, Barnett and KampmanOriginally posted by Jerry TaggeJolly, Cole and Coston on IR. Not good.
Coston was a marginal player we will be fine it is Spitz that worries me.
Imagine what could've been accomplished if they had 5 "cast in stone" starters the whole year

I guess I meant to say the same 5 starters all year, ala what Pacfn in Md suggested..Originally posted by MJZiggyIf they had 5 "cast in stone" starters this year, Favre would have gotten killed because Colledge was inadequate in protecting him. Things had to get moved around.Originally posted by hurleyfanCoston was better than Spitz, that's why he kept getting chances.. Re: Coston on IR
Sure hate losing that man.Originally posted by PartialGuard Junius Coston won't be part of the Packers' playoff run. The team placed him on season-ending injured reserve today and promoted tackle Orrin Thompson from the practice squad.
Coston sustained a strained calf in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions. His injury means Daryn Colledge is virtually assured of starting at left guard in the Jan. 12 divisional playoff game.
The question now is who will be the right guard: Jason Spitz or Tony Moll. Spitz sustained a quad injury against the Lions though it was not believed to be as serious as Coston's injury. Moll finished the game at right guard, but the Packers were holding out hope Spitz will recover quickly.
Coston started seven games this season and appeared in 13. He missed time during the season due to an ankle injury.
Thompson spent four weeks on the Packers' active roster earlier this season.
The Packers return to practice on Friday morning after taking four days off.
