Most people assumed Elway would retire after they won the Super Bowl. He recognized the opportunity to get there again.
Favre is better now than Elway was then, has a brilliant receiving corp to work with, a young and developing team overall, a strong defense even if not great. He knows the team is in great shape cap-wise to retain the ones they want and maybe even sign a free agent or two. He still seems passionate about the game. Why wouldn't he want to return?Comment

the thing is.. im pretty certain his decision has never been about other people and what they think.. it seems to me that he makes his decision on the competitive fire that burns inside him from year to year...
