Favre admitted that he was not optimistic after being down 14-0.... and said, "oh boy, this ain't too good... this is the exact game I didn't want to be in.... put us in a situation where we have to throw against their Defense... but all those things we handled well."

On the stumble/shuffle pass, "that looked bad. glad i got it completed. probably looked slow and not athletic. we were pressed for time. brought Lee in for protection. had to point to him for whom to block. stepped to left and it was covered well. spun out of it. not quite as nimble and tripped - maybe over my own feet.... i knew i had room to run or make a play.... i held on long enough and thinking 'just get your feet underneath you' - low and behold Lee is there. gave him the underhand pass - practice it all the time. no one was more excited than me in the building. continue the drive and not risk a bad kick. 9 of 10 times it would've fell incomplete or I would've fallen. it was a big play for a lot of reasons."

"Most snow I've ever played in. Hoping for that for 17 years.... I wanted to play where you couldn't see the field. It's amazing - that the first time it's snowed like that."

On the 4th and 1 challenge to M3, "I drifted to the right and dumped it to bubba. Field was iffy - saw where they spotted it. Standing there waiting and saw the replay.. couldn't see if his knee was down but I thought he had extended the ball further. just needed an inch. at that point in the game it was worth taking the shot."

On his comeback each year - feeling of being one game from Super Bowl, "My mentality is probably dif't than most guys in the lockerroom and myself 10 years ago. Now it's totally different.... these types of seasons are harder to come by than I previously thought. I am closer to retirement. Makes you appreciate it. gotta make the most of the opportunity. We could be 3-13 next year."

On coming back, "I never said I was coming back... not suprised by the reaction. Glad it wasn't a distraction."
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.
          Vince Lombardi

"Not really interested in being a spoiler or an underdog. We're the Green Bay Packers." McCarthy.

It's gonna be three heart-wrenching hours for me. I love it.
I would say the first hour was GUT wrenching, after that it was
pretty much downhill. So many contributed, Grant of course, and Favre was
a star, looking really good - but how about that solid defense, the whole secondary was outstanding and hasn't Atari Bigby grown up?
Is it really a halo or
            just a swelled head ?

Look, I don't want to be a contrarian, however, Bigby can lay a hard hit, but he couldn't cover with a blanket and a 10 yard head start.

This offseason, if he can improve his coverage skills I'm there with you, if he can't, it's just a matter of time before he becomes a major liability.
              Yer right, RG.

Today was different. His coverage was much better on the slow track.

If we have to got to Texas, he's still a problem child, but he's learnin'.

Too funny. There were some people understandably overreacting. It sure looked like a great season might be going down the drain. Glad the team kept their cool.

He was invisible, but I think part of that might have to do with the fact that he was wearing a white jersey in a snowstorm.

                        • Fun game thread, Rats!

The team took us on a roller coaster today.

I'm so proud of Bigby! And he had an AWESOME defended pass where he tomahawked the ball out of receiver's hands from behind just as the ball arrived.

When Seattle's #18 dropped the ball on the critical 3rd down that would have put them into position to tie the game I slammed the table and yelled so loud I caused a panic among the rest of the family watching in another room. That drop was caused by Bigby's previous big hits--the guy was hearing footsteps--and the receiver STILL got got a face full 0f #20.

What a day to be a Packer fan. Enjoy the glow. Whatever will be will be next week but for today our team created a memory as sweet as 4th and 26 was sour.
[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

Well, McCarthy is a rookie at playoff action and not been part of a winner in the past.

McCarthuy doesn't know how to prepare for the playoffs.

We have to wait for haltime for adjustments.
