  • Giants injuries

What are the significant injuries for the Giants? We are pretty much full strength.

They had Madison out for this game - is he due back?

Their rookie starter Ross went out late, looked like his shoulder was toast.

That would be two starters on the D backfield which would give us a huge advantage Sunday.

    Any others?

Strahan went out late with a hammy. Plaxico Burress had a torn ligament in his ankle and was playing, but limping badly.

      Very nice!

i think they will not be in very good shape coming into Lambeau next week.

Their DB situation is horrific. Brett should be able to annihilate their secondary. I still don't know how the Cowboys receivers played so horribly. If we can stop their run, and we should be able to, I really like our chances. Eli is average, and he has horrible pocket presence. We should be able to bring many different blitz packages, no one on their offense scares me and if we pressure Eli early and often, I think he will press and make some bad decisions. He is due for a bad game. He has no arm strength, and hasn't played a defense as good as ours since week 2, when he faced our defense. We should be able to completely disrupt their timing. I just hope we play with as much intensity as we have been, and don't get overconfident.

Also, their talented rookie cornerback Aaron Ross (who was starting) has a bum shoulder. It's not clear whether he could go. By the end of the game, they had a guy who spent most of the year on the practice squad as the #2 or #3 CB.

They won't have Shockey who caught a number of passes against the Packers in the first game.

It's good to know. I don't enjoy injuries, but I think it's good to know who will and won't be playing in the next game.

ive played sports all the way through college at a competitive level and i guess look at injuries a bit different than most. i think there's a good amount of sentiment floating around from when AP got hurt and JH took a lashing for his comments about it. now it's just getting kind of gay.

it's fucking football. who's playing and not playing has some sort of impact on the final result of the game. ive been injured/hurt so many times it's ridiculous (especially as a kid skateboarding)... this shit isnt life threatening. i dont want guys to not be able to play but i dont give a shit if they dont.

i wanna win. and im pretty sure taking note of what we're going up against this week is a pretty fair topic on this particular forum. no one's excited about grown adults with a hurt hamstring (you jerkheads you!), just more excited about what that potentially means.

R W McQuarters is starting for them. That is easy enough yet he is one of their better DB's!!

The Giants D-line (including Dave Tollefson) kept the Giants in the game.

                          The Packers should win easily.

Attention stat monsters: could somebody dig up Eli's record in cold weather games?

They flashed it late in the season during a game I was watching (I can't remember which one), I want to say he's was like 0-5 with a bad QB rating or something similar. I can remember thinking how sweet it would be to see him try his luck at Lambeau in January with that cold weather graphic in mind. That could be the biggest advantage of all.

Does anyone remember the 1994 Chargers, the 1998 Falcons or 2003 Panthers? All went into a 'hopeless' championship game that was sold beforehand. Don't let it sweep you up with Giants being injured! They are 9-1 on the road; they gotta do something right?

With that said; if Packers concentrate then they will prevail.
