As disappointed as I am right now, I have to give the Giants credit for what they were able to accomplish in a tough spot. I thought this would be the Packers moment to shine, but they got outplayed. It was a close game, but the Giants dominated.
I'm not sure why the Pack had no commitment to the run today. It may have affected the outcome had they tried to establish it more. The dinky-dunk passes to the flat and the screen plays were snuffed out. Hats off to the Giants D for executing a great game plan. I also give credit to the Giants offense for finding a way to move the chains, especially when they had to.
This was still an amazing season, even with the heartbreak today. Who would have believed we were going to get this far at the start of the season? After the Minnesota game vs. the Giants this year, who would have thought they would either? They are on quite a run. I'll be rooting for them to win the Super Bowl as a vindication of their win today. If they beat the Pats, they will seem like a team of destiny.
Yeah buddy. Let's all pull for the Giants!
BTW, any Pats fans on here?
Wow, I'm shocked. I thought this place would be melting down.
Just waiting for bearfag to respond.
Son, ya want me to gouge out you eyeball and skullf*ck you !? Ya maggot, best part of you ran down your mommas leg. Drop and give me 100 ya FNG ! I was spit shining my boots and polishing my brass before you was a glimmer in your dads eye ! You had better lock your body and show some respect for an old salt !
Yes, I've been waiting for that for quite some time from you dammit. When did you serve? BTW....still on active duty duty (18+ years now) and a GySgt. My guess is that you did 4 and got out. Sound about right Cpl?
Gunny,
I served from June 17 1977 to 10 Feb 1988. My rank is S/Sgt. I spent most my time in 1st and 3rd RECON, did a tour with K co 3/5 as a Plt. Sgt. Pulled sea duty in Holly Lock Scottland as Sgt. of the Guard onboard the USS Huntley. I am now a K-9 Officer in Wa. St. Very glad to meet you Sir.
Is it common for men who served this country to act like dicks when it comes to football? It confuses us who are in your debt.
We have to screw with each other. That's just the way it is.
LOL, I don't get it but my hat is off to both of you guys.
Thank you both!
God bless.
Thanks Ras!
Don't thank me. I owe you more than you'll ever owe me. I know it but that doesn't help me pay it back.
I damn near joined the marines back in the late 70's. I took some tests at the recruiting office and had a great time playing softball with some jar heads, led by the main recruiter dude. But when a family sort of sprang up without warning I ended up going that route.....taking care of the wife to be.....

Hope it goes well.....you should get a military retirement I would guess for all those years. A family friend retired after 25 years or so in the Navy and has a nice pension.

I was 17 and I was told by the recruiting Sargent that hitting a guys beer was an out. He was pitching and I drilled his beer with a ball up the middle.
I ran to first and he just looked at me. I said "what?". He stares at me and I say say again "what?". He ain't looking happy and he says "what did I say?". I'm now intimidated. I say "what, your beer?" He just stares.....I am major league intimiated. He points at the bench and says "you're out". He ain't smiling. Man I felt like an idiot jogging over to the bench. He wasn't laughing one bit.
Reading this thread Ras sounds like a troll. But imo he is more honest with the way the game is played than most of the rats as he doesn't where the G&G goggles.

Yep. What a classless mother fucker. That is the kind of stuff that fires teams up for the next meeting. They may have won this time, but I wouldn't count on it happening again. That cat is an idiot.

Penalties are keeping this drive alive.
This was a ridiculous drive and I knew bad things were ahead of us when watching this at the airport. 4 Penalty's on that drive, including 3 on 3rd downs. Give me an F'in break Packers!

I'm not liking how effective Burress has been this game.
Me either. Harris did not seem very effective on him one on one. Why did they not adjust and put Woodie on him? He's the better athlete!

So what is the current level of panic on the board?
I will give the Giants a little credit and admit they're a good team. They played NE tough, then won three straight road games against a decent Tampa team and good teams in Dallas and GB.
We had at least 5 golden opportunities (2 missed FGs, one int turned to fumble for another FG, a Giant TD called back on holding) - and with that we didn't do shit.
Not looking at the numbers....
We had no rushing attack - like 25 yards or something.
No pass rush.
Weak corner play.
Favre being Favre - throwing into triple coverage, multiple INTs....
Barnett was cramping or something in the 4th Q - missed lots of tackles.
Woodson was clearly shaken up from the first hit of the game and forward.
I STILL HATE KICKING OFF TO START THE GAME. Another case in point with the Giants coming out and scoring that opening drive kickoff.
Way too many stupid penalties and a few bad calls from the zebras.
Game was kinda cold - but no one complained. I was really warm - had a good time.
Ending was surreal. Fans exited the stadium in record time. Oh - and the Giants weren't taunting the fans after the game - they found a decent contingent of Giants fans in the North Endzone and were cheering with them.
Very sad loss. Packers were out of the stadium in about a min. No one said a word leaving the stadium - about 72000 zombies.
Think I may have seen a bunch of players leaving when driving home - had a police escort. One SUV with a guy that kinda looked like Favre - had a Packer license plate FAVRE4.... Anyone know if that was him?
Is Favre's last throw an INT? Or does he come back to get over the loss? If he comes back, did he then hang on too long? I'm ready to let him go.... another 10M in cap. Get rid of ARod for a draft pick and keep the nucleus in tact.
Anyways- got lots of good photos - not sure if anyone really cares to see them. Time for bed - and catching a flight in 5 hours from Chicago... gonna be a LONG day.

The frustrations those on this thread is the same I felt in the stands
Still in shock today
