Also, I think it would probably be counterproductive to devote so many resources (money, high draft pick) to a third linebacker. Especially when you consider the fact that in many defensive formations, the third LB is the first player taken off to replace by an extra DB in passing situations.Originally posted by twoseven
We have two very solid LBs right now, and already we have to take on off the field in Dime situations. I don't really see any need for a starting third LB that's anything more than "solid" or "dependable", and I think that Poppinga has grown into that player.
