doesn't look like he's ever played a snap in the nfl despite being in it for 2 years

Thoughts? I think Thompson has a thing for big fat guys with injury historys.

I remember the name from a draft about 3 or 4 years ago. I think he was a really, really big offensive tackle that needed work to become a starter. I guess he never got the work in Miami.

Sounds like he is "Just a guy."

It won't hurt to bring in extra competition. There is always the slight chance he might make the team.

He actually sounds like a guy who could have a chance if he could stay healthy.

I'm willing to think TT brought him here for a reason. He could be camp fodder, but who knows, he could turn out to be a better guard than say...Colledge?

this guy sounds just as bad as harrell, he's an injury waiting to happen

he's been injured his whole pro carrer, playing in just one preseason game in 2 years

his senior year in college he played only 6 games because of a high ankle sprain

his junior years he missed time with a groin injury

and his he missed most of his sophomore year with a bulging disk

Question is: is he playing for more than the minimum? If not, who cares? They bring people in all the time who have virtually no chance of sticking with the team. I don't understand why everyone's getting worked up about this.

High reward, low risk kind of signing. It's not like our depth at Tackle was outstanding, and at backup Tackle a history of injuries isn't that big a deal, since you don't expect your backup Tackle to play a huge number of snaps anyway.

Sounds like a guy who has been injured a lot and never really got off the blocks in the pros. If he still doesn't get off the block, you cut him and it really doesn't cost you much. If he finally gets healthy and plays well, good for him and good for the Packers.

He can't have cost much, and signings like these are generally painless if not beneficial.
