Asked early Tuesday where he'd like to play in 2008, Chad Johnson answered "where I can win a playoff game and get to the Super Bowl."

Asked if Cincinnati is a place he can do that, Johnson said "I'm not sure." "My focus is not on football now. I don't start working out on my own until April." It sounds like Johnson doesn't plan to participate in the Bengals' offseason conditioning program, beginning March 24. He can receive a $250,000 bonus for reporting on that date.

Wow, that's WAY undervaluing him. He's easily a top 10 receiver in the league, doesn't have an injury history, and for all his fooling around, has kept out of trouble...most of the stuff he's done has been more 'goofy' than anything else. He could well have his best years ahead of him.

If he moves, I'd have to think it's for a first (minimum).

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports free-agent QB Quinn Gray (Jaguars) said he is set to sign a one-year contract with the Houston Texans. The team is giving him a one-year deal worth $635,000, including $40,000 to sign.

Former Packers first-round pick Ahmad Carroll is currently playing for the Arena League's Orlando Predators.

Carroll's last tryout for an NFL team was with the Jets in December. The Preds are coached by Jay Gruden, Jon's younger brother. "He has a ton of talent, but he hasn't done anything in a game for us yet," Jay said of Carroll.
