Originally posted by Lurker64Just curious Ras, say you're GM of the Vikings for 5 minutes and are presented with an opportunity to trade Tavarius Jackson for Aaron Rodgers straight up. You and I both don't know enough of how he'll do as the starter to say where he'll rank.
Hmmm, I'd certainly consider it. I'll have to be honest though. It takes a while for guys to develop and I want to see how Rodgers plays when he is the starter week in and week out. He looked pretty good against Dallas. Plus, Rodgers was brought in the right way, not thrown to the wolves so to speak. I guess to answer your question, I think I would make that deal even though I wouldn't be sure what I had. He's been in the league longer and is certainly a good prospect.
So, I guess

I smell a passer rating bet again. We've seen some good QBs go through Green Bay, and all we could do was evaluate them on preseason. Rodgers looks comparable to those other QBs that went elsewhere.Originally posted by RastakThe guy has ZERO starts in the NFL....how can you say that?

Yea, but he might be a Grossman himself, you just never know!

I'm not going to make my predictions about the NFC North until after the draft. The NFC North is extremely weak and no doubt rookies will make an impact.
I think its safe to say that the Vikings are the only team that could contend for the North but I never like their odds. I feel that we are better on offense, defense and special teams.70% of the Earth is covered by water. The rest is covered by Al Harris.

Blasphemy! There's only one Rex Grossman. How do we know this? Because if there was a second coming of Grossman, the Vikings would have found him by now! :POriginally posted by RastakOriginally posted by HarveyWallbangersThat's because he's watched Grossman and Jackson. you can call it speculation ... but just like a hypothesis, there's some basis behind it. football fans KNOW football to some degree... former all-conference (at Monroe... which is/was a WI powerhouse), third-team all state high school, player-coach for Jeff Tricky QB Camps knows quarterbacks to SOME degree...Originally posted by RastakOriginally posted by HarveyWallbangersThat's because he's watched Grossman and Jackson. not to toot my own horn but when i watch Rodgers, I see a little bit of the IT factor... a little swagger, that joe montana "hey, is that john candy up there?" confidence... i think he'll be a great game manager and really fit our scheme and ill be honest, i was the last guy sold on him up until even that Dallas game ... he's only going to get better. There's a vibe with him.
My only X factor, really, is his durability ... a half the season QB doesn't get the job done as we all know.
