If the weather is ideal in the last part of the year, meaning unseasonably high temps then I think 30+ TDs is possible if Brett Favre was the QB, but most likely Rodgers will not in 2008, regardless of the temp. I think the Packers will be more conservative inside the 10 yard line and in goal line situations.

If Rodgers takes care of the ball and keeps his picks to a minimun, later season, Mac might let it fly in the red zone.

I'm the only one that went with 0-9????

How can he throw more than 10 TD's in one game??? He'll suffer a high ankle sprain getting out of the shower after the first game.

Don't see him being able to take the pounding.

True. If he's injured how can he succeed.

I'll say he throws 1.8 tds a game

Thats what am saying, it's not going to happen. Favre played lights out last year and he only got 28. No way does Rodgers get more than 20 IMO in his first season starting.

Hey...the snows melting and spring is near at hand! What I want to know is why there was no 40+ TD option?

Leaper and Wist most be to of the most optimistic fellas around on Aaron Rodgers and life after Favre.

Leaper lept. Got mad at Favre for his reason of retirement, and now poo-poos Aaron Rodgers. Gonna be good season for you two.

I'm not poo-pooing Rodgers. I'm just pointing out that it seems rather over-the-top to suggest he will do BETTER as a first-time starter than Favre did during his HOF career.

Rodgers can throw for 24 TDs, and he's still nowhere near 1.8 TDs a game over an entire season.

1.8 seems a little much to me. I predicted 17-23. However, passing TDs have gone up a bit since the turn of the century (outside of a couple odd years). 25 TDs now seems to be roughly equivalent to 20-22 TDs in the first half of Favre's career, so it's hard to compare the TDs or TD rate to even 10 years ago.

There were 10 QBs in 2007 that threw 26 or more TDs in 2007.

QBs that threw 25 or more TDs in Favre's MVP years:
5 in 1997 (Favre's 35 TDs were 6 more than the next QB)
4 in 1996 (Favre's 39 TDs were 6 more than the next QB)
7 in 1995 (Favre's 38 TDs were 5 more than the next QB)

Crazy that over those 3 years, no QB came within 5 TDs of Favre in any of those years. That should spell out just how damn good he was in his MVP years. He not only led the league each year, he crushed the league.

Where's the 30+ option? Some of us might be a little more optimistic. The guy is a first round pick. He's had three years to learn, two under this offense. He inherits a young prolific offense. It's not completely inconcievable.

This post defines you. It blends your uncomfortable man lust for a guy who used to throw a football with your undying optimism for everything Packer in a way that I didn't think possible. Nice!!

I'll go with 23 TDs and 16 INTs. We make the playoffs again.
