Here's the call:
"Hey Ted, this is the Saints GM. We really need your pic in the 7th."
"Hmm," - TT is rolling today. "What's your offer?"
"A round of golf and a free lunch."
"No such thing as a free lunch," TT ponders.
"Well how about you realize you are just gonna cut this poor sucker - we may actually need a WR."
"MMM, lunch" - TT
"You've already traded in your division, now you want to give another conference foe an opportunity," -advises one of TT's cronies.
"lunch" - TT, "you have a deal"
:PThe measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

"Not really interested in being a spoiler or an underdog. We're the Green Bay Packers." McCarthy.

Hmm... possible reason for the Swain pick: Staring at a list of guys he would consider as an undrafted FA, Swain (bein a WR) was the one guy who would NEVER EVER EVER come here out of his own volition. I mean, if you're an undrafted WR looking to make a NFL roster, Green Bay is probably the last team in the NFL that you would choose to sign with.</delurk>

Green Bay Packers Draft Picks
Rd 2 - #5(36) Jordy Nelson (WR) Kansas St
Rd 2 - #25(56) Brian Brohm (QB) Louisville
Rd 2 - #29(60) Patrick Lee (CB) Auburn
Rd 3 - #28(91) Jermichael Finley (TE) Texas
Rd 4 - #3(102) Jeremy Thompson (DE) W Forest
Rd 4 - #36(135) Josh Sitton (OT) C Florida
Rd 5 - #15(150) Breno Giacomini (OT) Louisville
Rd 7 - #2(209) Matt Flynn (QB) LSU
Well, how does this draft look to you? Time will tell what the impact is. As many have said, since Green Bay had few needs and not much player movement (save the huge retirement, but had a successor in place of course) there were probably going to be less picks, and less guys who were drafted to have to depend on right away.
Nelson, Lee and Finley make the biggest year one contributions, while the other draftees get into the system and get comfortable."Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts." -Daniel Patrick Moynihan
