One punter was drafted, we can still get the #2 guy and it doesn't cost us a draft pick.

I would bet there are plenty of punters available as free agents. They'll bring in at least one for a look.

The punter line was a joke.....well kind of. I just have to say I was a little shocked when I saw the Tiger QB on the list.

I like Nelson, Lee, and Finley, and the two O Linemen sound like they could be good, but that's about it.

It's especially disgusting to see a lot of teams get players who could be decent in the last couple of rounds, and we got throwaways--seemingly.

Hadn't noticed until now that the punter who was drafted, Durant Brooks, went in the second round to Washington. I've read that he's fantastic and has worked closely with Ray Guy, but he'd better be close to Ray Guy's skill level to go that high.

I'd bet and hope that Ken DeBauche from Wisconsin gets a look from his home town team (I believe he's from Suamico). One other punter I wanted to mention: I got to see the Temple-Army game at West Point this year (my wife's nephew is a second year cadet at West Point), and Army's punter, Owen Tolson, is as good a college punter as I've seen in a long time. He was one of a small number of punters invited to the NFL combine. Since Army players now have the opportunity to play in the NFL right away, he could be well worth a look.

I see Ikegwuonu went in the 4th round. That's not too bad, given his weak senior year and serious injury, at least he has a good shot at making a team.

Check again...Brooks went in the sixth.....not second round. Only Sherman drafts punters that high.

Interesting draft. Hopefully Brohm is better than I fear he will be when Rodgers get's hurt. He's not strong armed and that could limit his effectiveness in poor weather.

I was also somewhat disappointed in today's selections. The board didn't seem to fall our way. I was hoping to get a running back that could provide a great complement to Grant. Didn't happen.

Nelson looks like he'll be a weapon. Finley too.

We got better, just not at RB.

Seventh Round Picks for Packers:

Round 7, Pick 2 (209) (From Rams through Vikings) Matt Flynn QB 6'2" 228 LSU

Pick Analysis:

Flynn is a good decision maker, who has played in a successful program at LSU. With Brett Favre's departure, the Packers look to be stockpiling quarterbacks in order to create some competition for Aaron Rodgers.

Round 7, Pick 10 (217) (From Bengals through Rams) Brett Swain WR 6'1" 200 San Diego State

Pick Analysis:

Swain has decent speed and size, but he's not particularly outstanding in any particular area. But he does have a chance to make the roster as a depth wide receiver. The Packers have done well in the past taking receivers late in the draft with players such as Donald Driver and Ruvell Martin.

Ruvell Martin was not drafted. I believe he was signed as an UDFA by the Chargers organization and cut, when Green Bay picked him up and assigned him to the Amsterdam Admirals in 2005.

I'm very surprized too Vince, that TT didn't pick a RB.

All I see is Grant.

He's likely going to wait like he did last season getting GRANT.

You're right--he wasn't drafted:

It says the Chargers sent him to Amsterdam in 2005 but then cut him the next year, and that's when the Packers got him.

I think the writer's point was "Gee, the Packers have done well at WR with guys other teams didn't want real badly"
