5. Aaron Rodgers, quarterback, Packers. When John Elway walked away from the Denver Broncos after winning back-to-back Super Bowls, no one expected much from Bubby Brister.

Brister didn't disappoint.

But with Brett Farve riding off into the sunset after, um, forcing a ball into coverage to lose the NFC title game in overtime, the job now falls to the man who was drafted three years ago to be Favre's successor.

Rodgers will say all the right things. In his heart, however, he surely recognizes that his grace period will last for a drive or two, and that Packers fans will grow unruly quickly if Rodgers doesn't deliver.

Wondering about this fella and that list.

The Browns are expected to advance, so from that standpoint he'll possibly feel some pressure. He can control that. He's coming off an impressive 2007, and has a new contract that may be undervalueing him.

I agree, Woodbuck, that Derek Anderson surprised many people with his effectivenss last year. Even most Oregon State Beavers fans, coaches, and sportswriters had misgivings about his ability to make it at the pro level. I was certainly one of those doubters.

The question is will Anderson be a "one season wonder" or will he continue to improve?

Another question is where will Brady Quinn's future lie? Will he continue to sit on the bench or will he or Anderson be shipped off to another team?

Anderson is in a perfect situation. Edwards and Winslow are quite the combination. I have my doubts about him. He seemed to be quite inaccurate last year, but his WRs bailed him out a lot of times. I'm guessing he comes back to Earth this year. Edwards and Winslow were both healthy last year, but they've been injury prone in the past. If either of those guys are out, I don't think Anderson is good enough to put up good numbers again.

Anderson also has Brady Quinn sitting on the bench...talk about having to look over your shoulder.

Rodgers clearly has more than one or two series to establish himself...Green Bay has a rookie QB behind him.
