Hopefully he'll miss some regular season games too so that 253 (275 including playoffs) has no chance of being broken

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning had a medical procedure Monday to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee.

Colts president Bill Polian announced the procedure, described as routine, on Monday night. Polian said the team's medical staff expects Manning to have "a full and complete return to action" in four to six weeks. Colts training camp begins July 25.

"Peyton had been receiving conservative treatment for an inflamed bursa sac in consultation with the club's medical staff since February 2008. This course of treatment was productive until Peyton experienced increased pain and early signs of infection," Polian said. "Peyton will meet with the press as normally scheduled at the opening of training camp."

As much as I can't stand the Manning family... I dont wanna see a guy hurt ever, and he is a really great QB and could get into the top 5-10 when its all said and done

I feel the same way PP - don't like to see people hoping he misses time.

I've heard all the stories about him always having a great OL, all the weapons on offense. Things were a little rougher with MH out a lot last year, and I don't think things are going to get better for that team short term. We'll see how he does this season.

Why wouldn't he have had the surgery done after the season........why wait till now?

Good possibility that the Bursa sac just got infected over the offseason... so now he has to deal with it but it sounds like a standard procedure that wont really affect him too much

I think this sentence explains is

"Peyton had been receiving conservative treatment for an inflamed bursa sac in consultation with the club's medical staff since February 2008. This course of treatment was productive until Peyton experienced increased pain and early signs of infection,"
Trying to avoid surgery by treating it with medication, but it got out of control, by the looks of it.

Ok, i cant ignore this anymore. What does "to miss time" mean? What version of the English language is that?

There is a slight chance he misses the opener... thats what it means but in a normal situation is heals up in plenty of time
