I personally love the decision for commissioner Goodell to get involved. TT and Brett Favre are both employees of the national football league, it's Goodell's responsibility to the league to maintain a balance of fairness. TT could sit on a Favre trade and never pull the trigger leaving Brett unemployed. But if it's Brett's honest intention to play again than he has the right and TT has to make something happen. Kudos to Goodell for stepping in, this whole thing is a fuckin mess and it has to end.

Why in hades would TT do this? It would mean a lost draft pick, and a chance for Favre to once again play the victim on Gretta's show. Packers don't need that. Favre himself said that TT asked him for a list of teams that he would be agreeable to play on.

He has the right to honor his contract and play for the Packers, nothing more.

Guess I'm annoyed at the insinuation that the Packers are playing hardball with Favre, and the commissioner was needed to set things right. Favre is retired, and he's been very ambiguous about his interest in playing. When Favre files his papers and the Packers refuse to accept or trade him, then we got a valid complaint.
