  • Packers 2006 NFL draft Player Comparisons

Just for some discussion I searched around a little and got some player comparisons from our draft. Keep in mind this by no means they will turn into the player they are compared to. It just means their type of play is similar to this certain players type of play (according to the scout who came up with the name). Take it for what it’s worth.

    A.J. Hawk - Takeo Spikes
    Daryn Colledge - Barry Sims
    Greg Jennings - Shaun McDonald
    Abdul Hodge - Ed Hartwell
    Jason Spitz - Grey Reugamer
    Cory Rodgers - Eddie Drummond
Will Blackmon - Troy Brown (Will Blackmon was evaluated as a WR)
    Ingle Martin - Brad Johnson
    Johnny Jolly - Jarvis Green

Just to show how off these magazines are, ESPN: NFL Draft interestingly ranked the WRs like this

    15- Will Blackmon
    16 - Greg Jennings
    17 - Cory Rodgers

On the flip side they ranked Hawk as the best run stuffing OLB and Hodge as the best run stuffing ILB.

Post any other player comparisons you may find, or make up your own comparisons.

    LOL

Ingle Martin = Brad Johnson. What a joke.

Martin is a gifted runner and not nearly as polished of a passer. I don't know how you can compare those two.

Yah I thought that was a major reach. Same with the Johnny Jolly - Jarvis Green comparison.

One is a 290 lb DE and the other is a 319 lb DT.
