  • chris williams OT bears leaves practice with back pain

Heard this on 670 the score out of Chicago. There doing there show from the bears training camp. There trying to find out if this was a injury from College. They said how could you hurt your back when there is no contact yet or pads on.

Rookie first-round pick Chris Williams left the practice field during a one-on-one pass-rushing drill.

He was taken to the training tent and then to the locker room and coach Lovie Smith revealed he has a back injury.

It's not how the Bears wanted things to start with their prized selection.

Wasn't the only knock on him coming out that he has injury red flags? Some sort of neck/back issue?

I remember him having some type of back issue. I also recall complaints, or bragging from the Bears' organization, that they had played up the severity of Williams' injuries in hopes of having him fall to them.

The knock on him coming out of college was that HE WAS SOFT. AN A CLASS PUSSY. Nice to know some draft picks actually live up to their billing.
