  • There was all this hoopla that the Packers were giving up Mr. Wonderful and would never be able to get by without him. It was all wrong. This would be a nice admittance.

Bretsky kind of did that. I'm sure he'd rather be right on things, but he said the way AR is playing, he didn't think we'd move on from Brett like this and he's back, doing better than ever.

    Why can't the others?

        I know.

All we got for pre-game five days out is the weather forecast, disrespected cancer victims, and Brent likes the Packers in SB.
[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

And whether ARod is better than Favre in his MVP years...
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

There is no way in hell he could KNOW Rodgers was going to become was he has.

He had an educated guess at best.

Was it time to move on, because Favre's antics were hurting the team? Absolutely, but we're damn lucky we got a good QB to replace him right out of the gate.

I chuckle every time I think what Chicago fans reaction to our QB changeover must've been. The joy at seeing Favre go, then the heartbreak of realizing he was being replaced by another Pro-Bowler...

TT knew the potential and the likelihood of reaching that potential and it was a gamble. But what was he giving up? A old player with diminishing skills who was not able to finish a season (emotionally) and who continued to be non-committal to the franchise, who retired several times, and would likely do so a few more times.

              • I have a BFFF aunt who is convinced that the NFL is fixed and the Packers will win it all this year as a means of getting back at Favre. She also thinks Goodell made up the whole Sterger/massage therapist ordeal as punishment to Favre.

As much as I do miss the increased traffic around here, if you can't get on board with this team that has gone through as much adversity as it has and is led by a great group of young (CM3, Rodgers, Raji) and old (Woodson, Driver) guys, than you are better off not being a Packer fan.

Obviously no one can predict the future, but Thompson knows how to project talent and it's not a matter of luck. He's paid millions to make "educated guesses" and between he, McCarthy and Clements, no one in the world was more educated on the subject.

Rodgers graded out as the highest rated QB that McCarthy had ever had in QB school. You'd be a fool to say he would be the best in the league one day, but they knew they had a guy who had everything you could want in a QB. You can't ask for more than that going in.

This post is the gift that keeps on giving. Here's to another twenty years of people trying to move past their demons while being great people.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

And poor Partial's selective memory made him forget the legend of Brett's surgery (two of them, I think) to remove intestines that suffered from an automobile accident. I think he would be hurt if he knew he threw Brett under the bus with Koren.

you would figure it would be enough to lure Baddest Bear and Bearman out of their caves to come here and talk smack. Perhaps they are in prison.
