both were first round picks, both looked good at times during the preseason. I know Brees wasn't Favre, but you had a situation with both teams where they had proven commodities at QB but were ready to move on to the young player in the wings - both teams took a lot of flak for it, but both felt that they were making the right decision. If I'm correct, Rivers went 14-2 in his first season as a starter based on the strength of the team. seems like the packers have a similarly talented squad (maybe not quite as good).

anyways, it seems like a fair comparison to me - one of those things you have to let play out

I really like this comparison. I know LT >>> Grant, but our WR >> their WRs.

I like the #s Rivers put up as well in that, in comparison to what I think Rodgers will do - 21 TDs, 9 INTs.

It is pretty Green and Gold to me, Favre is the better player, will always be the better player and is getting shafted! If they were so sure Rodgers was better they would have an open competition for the job and none of this bs would be going on! Had they said 2 weeks ago, show up to camp and earn the job we would be talking about TC and not bashing one of the greatest players any of us will ever see......thats pretty black and white to me!!

so if putting the "better player now" on the field is the best thing to do, we should have traded for pacman, TO, and chad johnson right? I mean, nothing else matters, they are hella talented. Of course other things do matter, like retiring, getting the whole organization going one way, then wanting the job back....you know...yanking chains.
