To Brett, it just seems to be about what Brett wants. Not about the team he has so much love for.

The team wants him to retire and stay retired. They don't want him on the team and they don't want him to compete for the starting slot. Favre wants to play and can certainly play at a high level. If you were in Favre's shoes, would you go quietly into that good night?

I might give them a list of teams to trade me to.

Right, if Brett really wanted to play he would give a group of teams he wants to play for and accept trades rather than denying them.

What if he did and it was the Bears and Vikings? How many times has it been said that 'if only the Bears or Vikings had Favre, they'd be in Superbowl contention?' A simple-minded guy like Favre hears this and probably thinks it's his best chance. The Packers justifiably don't want this, so they refuse. Favre has no leverage whatsoever, except to call in favors, be an asshat and/or make a spectacle of himself. I think he's there right now.

Favre had every chance to play quarterback for the Green Bay Packers this year. He turned it down, as recently as April. He had a chance to change his mind - TT and MM were ready to fly down to Mississippi and finalize the details of the "un-retirement" - then Favre said no. Again.

Well, that would depend on how much I really loved the team that I say I love, and how much I was in love with getting my own way.

You dont get it do you? His list would say he wants to play for the Packers. Yes he only wants to start but that should be somewhat understandable. He wants what he believes is his back and since he can't have that he is fueled by emotion and wants to dish out revenge the only way he really can. By beating the team his likely loves like his own family. He aint doing this because he hates the Packers. He just hates TT and probably M3 too. It really shouldn't be all that surprising that he feels that way. I bet you would feel that way JH.

Send him to Tampa and get it over with. If he sign for them he signs if not he stays retired.

HH thought he explained it better when he told me "Favre is acting like a Mexican".

So what? He changed his mind and wants to play. The Packers have moved on WILL NOT ALLOW HIM TO PLAY FOR THE PACKERS. That's their right. But should Favre just accept this and not try to find a place to play?

It's clear Favre wants to play more than he wants to protect the Packer's interests.
