What is wrong with a George Blanda role for him? We all know he can't last a whole season. I would respect him a hell of a lot more if he would just put the team first for a change instead of his own glory. You never know, he might just step in late in the season if Rodgers went down and help them win a Super Bowl.

But Favre has talked very negatively of being a backup, unfortunately it doesn't appear to be an option.
That's a question you'd have to ask Brett Favre.Chuck Norris doesn't cut his grass, he just stares at it and dares it to grow

Why do you think Favre is acting like such a spoiled primadonna lately? TT and MM already have reached that conclusion. Hence why Favre has turned into the big hollywood whore. Favre isn't happy, so he's acting out trying to get his way. Cmon, we were all that age once. We can all relate.Chuck Norris doesn't cut his grass, he just stares at it and dares it to grow

Sorry...what I should have said was the millions we would be paying him to sit on the bench. What would his salary be for the next two years..? 24 Million?Originally posted by GunakorOriginally posted by Freak OutIt sure sounds like they are trying to reward just that by giving him 20 million or so to not play. I say save the damn money and pay Grant and others and let Favre go. If you can get something out of a trade fine but if #4 refuses to budge then the commissar has no choice and has to reinstate him and things will really heat up then. It sure sounds like he is not just going to sit on the bench and be the good back up while you try and trade him. I just don't get why so many are intent on punishing Favre because he doesn't react the way so many of you want him to.
Freak Out, they are talking about an administrative salary. As in a coaches salary or executives salary. It would not count against the player cap. It would come out of Green Bay's coffers, just like Mike McCarthy's salary or Ted Thompson's salary or Bob Sander's salary. At least that's how I understand it. We'd still have the same amount of money under the cap to sign players either way. That comes from NFL shared revenue, not the Packer's coffers.C.H.U.D.

25 million actually. I wouldn't pay him that much money to sit on the bench either. I'm thinking this is what TT and MM meant when they'd find room for him if he wanted to come back, but in a different role. It might be coming to light what role they were thinking of, and it wasn't backup quarterback.Originally posted by Freak OutSorry...what I should have said was the millions we would be paying him to sit on the bench. I don't think so...most here love the Packers first....and Favre jocklicking comes second.Originally posted by son of a vicI'm convinced some here would rather see Favre go elsewhere and succeed
at the Packers expense, than to see the TEAM DO WELL WITHOUT HIM.
I want the Packers to win first..if the guys running the team think Rodgers is the guy at this point then fine...but I am not going to get all tweaked because Favre wants to play again and if he cant start for us wants to go where he has the best chance to win.C.H.U.D.

And some would like to see Favre succeed elsewhere AND the Packers succeed. It doesn't have to be one or the other ...although I'm sure several are cheering for him to miserably fail if he goes anywhere elseTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. I'll only cheer for him to fail miserably if he ends up a Viking. My love for the Packers and my hatred of all things Vikings would not allow me to root for the enemy, even if he is an old ally. If he were to go to the Jets I would root like hell for the Jets and the Packers to meet in the Super Bowl. And then I'd cheer for him to fail miserably anyway.

I'm in that camp as well. As long as he's not in purple and gold, I'll wish Brett well. For him to play for the vikings, though, would cause enough anger to wash away my gratitude for his last 16 years of service.Originally posted by GunakorI'll only cheer for him to fail miserably if he ends up a Viking. Re: I say let him go
I for one am totally pro-Packers, but say we go 8-8 and the Vikes go 11-5 are you really gonna wanna see the Icon fail? This is rare ground, but I for one would root the 39 year old on in that case.Originally posted by ZachMNso Brett wants to stick it to the Packers? Why shy away from it, the team is going to have to prove itself against good competition sooner or later so bring it on. Let him go to the Vikings or Bears. I for one would love to see it blow up in his face- playing for the vikings getting picked....priceless...Snake's Twitter comments would be LEGENDARY.........if I was ugly or gave a shit about Twitter.
