He said he would act on reinstatement only, he cannot guarantee that a deal between the Packers and Favre is in place as well.

Monday is the day the Commish has decided he will reinstate Favre.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

He didn't say that. He said he would rule on Brett's reinstatement. He could end this in one swift stroke, if he was real ballsy, and NOT reinstate Favre. Based on him saying "Ill finish it" He just might do that(personally I think he won't go that route).

He could, you are right, but he won't. Aside from the negative PR hit that he himself would take over a decision like that, Gene Upshaw and the NFLPA would cry bloody murder and there would be an even bigger problem on his hands. I don't see him as being so ballsy.

Didn't the commissioner's last line in the sand come and go without incident?

Since Goodell isn't the one making the decisions here, I'm not so sure how he knows when things are going to be wrapped up.

I thought all it meant was that he'd approve the reinstatement on Monday. I don't think there's too much else he can do without violating someone's interests and creating more of a mess than he has on his hands now...

Favre threw TT, M3, & Campen under the bus and burned a lot of bridges, I doubt he'll ever play for the Packers again, unless his attitude changes dramatically. I also doubt he'll sign the $20 mil. endorsement deal because he doesn't need the money and he still wants to play, besides, he could make as much doing commercials, ESPN, & etc. A trade seems to be the only option, and the Packers still have a bone to pick with Goodell about the viqueens tampering with Favre, they want to get Favre for nothing but the tampering charges give the Packers leverage, I hate to say it but I think he'll end up a queen, but the Pack will get a higher draft pick because of the tampering.
                            Thanks Ted!

Im going to disagree about the NFLPA as the commish has the legal right to deny Favre reinstatement and there wouldn't be a thing Upshaw could do about it. If Goodell denied(not saying he will) reinstatement he would not have a bigger problem on his hands. It would be DONE. FINSHED. OVER. He might take a PR hit but considering he has already taken a good size one, the extra hit might be worth it(again, I don't believe he would).
