I think the Packers are serious about not releasing Favre, no matter what. I believe MM feels he can handle the situation with Favre there. Brett will have a decision to make. Be the backup, or take the offer.

Stay tuned. The weirdest story we’ve ever seen surely will continue to get weirder.
He believes Goodell has reinstated him? He's not sure???? Ay yi yi!

(Actually, it would be nice if he came and made an appearance at Family Night, and maybe signed some autographs or something.)

GBR, that's what I was wondering too, why not just dump him off to TB whether Favre likes it or not and be done with ir?

Why would TB or anyone else trade for Favre unless he agrees beforehand to go there? They would just be inheriting the media circus the Packers are dealing with now.

I say just do the dirty deed and trade him to Minny - for even a third, man - and if they won't give you that then apparently the commish is not above a little arm-twisting.

Let's get this over with. If Favre stays inGB as a backiup, it'll never end.

I would guess they wouldn't do that, it likely wouldn't set well with the players. I'm sure that's why they are acting like he carries the ebola virus. If they treat the guy fairly while trying to work out a deal it can work I would guess. If they can sneak Flynn onto the practice squad it can work out ok. The other option is cutting him with the last roster cuts.

"Brett Favre, come on down! You are the next contestant on...the Price Is Right!"

Favre: "Uh, I'll say that I'd cost Minnesota a second round pick."

Bob: "That's right, Brett! You win an all-expenses paid six-month vacation to beautiful...Minneapolis, Minnesota!"

JSO has a source that confirmed Goodell has reinstated him.

Call was placed to Murphy this morning, Packers have until Monday Noon to make a roster move.

Favre's reinstatement to be announced todayby Jay Glazer
Jay Glazer is a Senior NFL Writer for FOXSports.com on MSN and also appears every week on FOX NFL Sunday as the network's NFL Insider.

                      http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8408908/Favre's-reinstatement-to-be-announced-today

The NFL league office will announce later today that Favre will be reinstated to the Green Bay Packers, but that reinstatement will not officially take effect until Monday.
Commissioner Goodell waited for both sides to come to some sort of an agreement. But when they failed to do so, in the end, Goodell felt if Favre wanted to play football that he should be given the right to do just that.

Once Favre has arrived at Green Bay training camp, sources tell FOXSports.com the team will ramp up efforts to trade him. In addition, once he is a member of the team and officially reports, he will no longer have the right to veto any trade.

Favre is expected to be in Green Bay by 3 p.m. CT.

The Packers are scrimmaging Sunday night, but Favre will not be allowed to attend the scrimmage since he technically will not be a member of the team until the reinstatement officially takes effect on Monday

Na, in a small city like GB, it translates to taking my dog for a walk past Brett's house

By reporting, Favre loses one method of vetoing a trade, the method of maintaining his retirement. But he can still 1) Re-retire, 2)Fail to report, 3)Fail to agree to renegotiate his contract.

So, really, nothing changes on this front.
