Are you talking about Favre or McCarthy...because the comment applies to both equally IMO. Favre threw a bad INT, and McCarthy and his crew got horrifically outcoached.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersYou better hope your boy plays really well this year, and doesn't lay another playoff stinker. My signature has NUDITY in it...whatcha gonna do?

I am not sure why M3 is still wasting time with the silly posturing when he knows damn well that everybody in America has heard about last night's clunker by A-Rod. They've already lost the PR war, so why keep fighting it? I like Woody's comments after the scrimmage, having only been with the team for two years he's still about to keep an objective perspective about the whole thing.
Put things about last night into perspective. He was 8-20 with an INT, which isn't very good at all. Not all of his incompletions were on target, of that you can be sure. But at least 4 or 5 of his incompletions were drops by the WR's. I saw him it Ruve in the hands twice, one Ruve dropped and the other Pat Lee made a great play on to knock it out of Ruve's hands. I saw Driver uncharacteristically drop one too. I'm not saying even those passes were perfect, but a rule of football is if you are a WR and the ball hits you in the hands you HAVE to catch it. If the ball hits you in the hands and you don't catch it that is your fault, not teh QB's. So A-Rod could have easily been 12-20 or 13-20, which isn't spectacular but isn't horrible either. Assuming those drops would have happened even if it were #4 throwing the ball, what's the difference??Chuck Norris doesn't cut his grass, he just stares at it and dares it to grow

Very true. Abandoning the run in a clutch playoff game is akin to throwing in the towel. Especially in sub zero degree weather.Chuck Norris doesn't cut his grass, he just stares at it and dares it to grow

Would not surprise me in the least.Originally posted by FritzI think some of the comments have been fairly direct. His most recent public comment, something about "even now" there's some waffling or uncertainty, reads to me like a man who is p-i-s-s-e-d off. I think he's going to rake Favre over the coals - if Favre can't give a straight "Hell yes I'm committed, extra film work and practice and the whole shebang" answer, then I think Favre will be flying to Minneapolis in a couple of days.Originally posted by PatlerI would like to hear that conversation. There have been several comments (nothing direct) from MM and from others with the Packers that make believe MM is extremely fed up with how Favre handled this off-season.

...and the interception was on the "last play of the half" in their two-minute drill simulation. They said the clock had run out.Originally posted by GunakorOriginally posted by FritzDontBlitzDude, you're cracking me up over here.

Of course, I do. But all of that pressure that was going to be on Rodgers is on Favre now, and it's going to be twice as bad. I just hope he's up to it emotionally. I was quite concerned after watching him talk about what a toll it took on him last year.Originally posted by Pacopete4haha, oh ya.. shouldn't you be hoping for that too, "packer fan"?Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersYou better hope your boy plays really well this year, and doesn't lay another playoff stinker."There's a lot of interest in the draft. In all seriousness though, I'm thinking the onus is on Arod, not Favre, Arod looked shaky last night and a little pissy in his post-interview last night (as would have I in his shoes) but the worst is over for Favre after his meeting (Christ he had legions tracking his Cessna last night, then had a helicopter following his Escalade to his house last night, with a police escort). Yea, he brought it on himself, yet he obviously wants to play to go through all this shit, and I don't think he's felt he's had to prove anything for years. Perhaps (I doubt it) he has an ever better year this year as I'm sure he needed/needs a wake up call from McCarthy at tonight's meeting. Just my 10 cents, and I hope for the best for AR and Brett, yet this is definitely in Favre's favor as now he just gets to play football.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersOf course, I do. I semi agree... but if Favre is truly back it is for the right reasons and that is he will give us blood, sweat, and tears that he's been giving us for 16 years now.. he'll bust his ass and hopefully in Feb we'll have something to show for it

So, the Favre backers won't even admit that Favre has a ton of pressure on him this year? What do you think the backlash will be if he has a bad season? I think it will be strong because a lot of people will know that he didn't put in the necessary work this offseason to give himself the best chance to succeed.
If he's the starting QB for the Packers, I'll be hoping he does well though. I hope I'm wrong that he might struggle."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. Harv, I think youre feeling of him having a bad season is due to the situation we're in because I dont think if he retired you'd even have a bad thought about it and you'd probably be jacked up for the season... the man is full of talent and it'll show.. like usual
