what in hades are you talking about?
If our season hinges on a second-round QB vs. a scrap-heap Vet, the season's shot anyway, so there's no loss in playing the youngster.

If Rodgers misses extensive time, are we going to the SB with Brohm? NO.

If Rodgers misses extensive time, are we going to the SB with some Vet? NO.

So, it would benefit us to play Brohm, because at least he gets experience, something he wouldn't get if a washed up vet started.
So you'd write off the season? I guess.....most of the other 31 teams would not.

          • ok. i guess there is an argument to be made there.

but a vet backup will win more games than Brohm, and a lot of NFL people seem to think that it is harmful to a QB to play them before they are ready.

Did anyone think Trent Dilfer could get to the Superbowl? The season is hardly over if we have to play a vet..

              • I think Rodgers played better than "OK". He looked ready to lead the team.

He posted almost the exact stat line as another NFC North QB, one with inferior wide recievers per this board......

                    • Rodgers looks quite good.
Jackson & Grant look like a formidable RB tandem.

Grant didn't do shit! Jackson made some nice moves though, after getting hit behind the line.

                          • What if Rodgers got hurt near the end of the season, but it would only keep him out until the start of the playoffs. If he was out for five games, and the Packers only needed to win one or two of those games to get in to the playoffs, who would you want at QB? A vet like Culpepper or Brohm?

Are we really comparing preseason stat lines?

Both looked 'ok' and stayed healthy. That's all that matters, really.

Plus how many reg season starts does T-Jack have? Arod = 59 pass attempts.

Yeah or worse yet he goes down during a playoff game. Brohm or a vet?
