August 21, 1922 - Curly Lambeau and Green Bay Football Club granted NFL franchise
(Don Hutson and Curly Lambeau have same hairdo. Wonder why it wasn't "Curly Hutson" also.)
I thought the Packers were founded in 1919 by Curly Lambeau and George Calhoun?
Indeed. The Packers are actually older than the NFL. They played in some other league for a couple of years. I believe their first game was against the Menominee North End.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
That's a terrific picture--the color for that era is remarkable (was it touched up?)
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

So my birthday is the same as the packers! Thats fooking sweet!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday! My birthday is a day after the Packers.

But notice how big his hands are for his body...no wonder he pulled so many passes in.

"I would love to have a guy that always gets the key hit, a pitcher that always makes his best pitch and a manager that can always make the right decision. The problem is getting him to put down his beer and come out of the stands and do those things." - Danny Murraugh

That pic is from the early 40's. 40 - 43, somewhere in there.
The 1922 date is when the Packers were re-admitted into the NFL. The Packs first NFL season was 1921. They were tossed out at the end of the '21 season after George Halas of the Bears ratted 'em out for using College players in league games. Halas squealed because he was doing the same thing.
Curly borrowed money from friend, applied for reinstatement and the league let 'em back in. If they wanna say '22 is the start, that's fine. There were a lot "starts" to the Green Bay Packers.
My birthdays occurs on the same day World War II broke out in Europe.....
Sorry to be the buzzkill.....
1939?
So you are 69.
Congratulations.
Hell nah, I'm older than that. I marched with Patton across Europe. Mean son of a bitch he was.
And don't I remember you saying you are still in high school? Wow, you must be having a hard time passing English.
:P :P :P
