Pinned between the line and a cluster of blockers? This year's going to be a breeze for our defense with the opposing QB "pinned" between all his linemen.
Yeah, open field and in tight quarters are two different things. A tackle and an open field tackle are two different things.

I agree with Harrell in terms of what's been written by the press. I remember reading that Rouse is fairly one dimensional at this stage.

Since I rarely see games, I have to go with Skin's vision of the man. Skin knows football.

Well, good thing Rouse had all those opposing linemen to help him out then.

They were occupying other defenders and while they were serving a purpose for the offense, they were also setting up a stage that is a sharp contrast to an "open field". Rouse made a tackle. He should have. Collins tackle was a play that the RB was expected to make. He's expected to be able to beat one guy all alone.

I'm not sure I even have a vision of him except that he probably needs another half season or so to develop before he can even be judged. I just don't think being a bad tackler ala Sharper and Roman is one of his traits at this point in his young career. Maybe a result of being a young guy thrust into the starting lineup due to injury last season, but certainly not something that seems like a consistent deficiency.

What kinda whimps play football, then? Ask KY if the fullback in Rugby is allowed a free pass if a winger or a centre is coming his way and the FB is the last man to beat!

Just drive em back to the centre of the pitch, Tar.

No, ya gotta bite the bullet.

Those are the plays that made me retire.

Collins is a great open field tackler when the guy is lined up straight downfield. He had some great tackles last year where he really drilled a RB in the flat.

However, if he has to take any kind of angle to the ball carrier he is guaranteed to screw it up. Collins must be a godawful pool player. I need to track down the old nun that taught my high school geometry class. She could grab him by the ear and teach him a thing or two about angles.
