I know Jones looks more impressive, but I think Nelson is going to be more productive. He had the knack for getting open and holding onto the ball in college, he just has to get used to pro level.

Nelson overall, but I think JJ has a better season this year. Next year though I think Nelson beats out JJ for the #3 spot and doesn't give it up until Driver retires and Nelson moves up to #2.Chuck Norris doesn't cut his grass, he just stares at it and dares it to grow

Jones this year. Nelson long-term. I think Jones has limited upside because he has lumbering speed. He could carve out a great career as a #3 receiver. I think Nelson has potential starting ability."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Why not both?
A year ago at this time, most people thought Jones was better than Jennings. and that Jennings was too slow. I think Jones has all the potential of Jennings, and that Nelson, based on college performance and measureables, may have even more potential.
With the Packers offensive scheme, both plus Driver and Jennings, as well as Martin, could do real well. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

If I'm Jones, I'm busting my ass in rehab to get back on the field ASAP. Rodgers already has a nice repoir with Martin. If Nelson gets a foothold ahead of him Jones could all of a sudden see a real decrease in playing time through no real fault of his own.
If I'm Nelson I'm busting my ass to get ahead of Martin on the depth chart before Jones gets back.
Long term I see Nelson and Jennings as the starting duo for many years. Jones is slower and less consistent than Nelson. That said, Jones would be a great #3 with those two. Between the three of them you've got size (Nelson), speed (Jennings), strength (Jones), and open field running ability (all three).#14

I like jones a lot.
He is said to have better acceleration than Jordy and knows more open field moves. He's also a lot tougher. Jordy would have cracked something if he had got sandwiched like JJ did against the Bengals.
Jordy will have a place on this team and will be a great player, but he needs a little more refining. I see him as eventually becoming Driver's replacement in the slot, but he's unlikely to beat anyone out this year.

well, if we wait a year or so, it will probably be obvious which guy is better. You don't get to place your bet on the horses after they finished their first lap.Originally posted by oregonpackfanToo early to tell for me. Jones has just 1 year in the pros but had a solid rookier year. Chances are that he will improve with experience.
I just can't speculate about Nelson as the guy hasn't even played a regular season game yet.
the idea is to use your keen scout's eye. step up and place your bet, all you have to lose is a little pride.
