Most games it's backups vs. backups in this game. At least, the Vikings have a fighting chance. This is just a waste of time. I know it's good to evaluate guys, but for the fan it's practically worthless.Originally posted by RastakOh who cares, on the Vikes side it's practically a scrimmage...(Pack too)I know you are kidding but man, these last games really really suck.
They need to shorten the pre-season and make the regular one longer."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Would you rather have your backups make the team playing backups or vs starters?Originally posted by HarveyWallbangersMost games it's backups vs. backups in this game. Yea, agree completely it means nothing for a fan. Moreso for Pack fans but at least you can evaluate scrubs against #1's and forget the score. Backups vs backups across the board doesn't mean shit. Man, I still say both the Vikies and the Packers games are pretty much scrimmages.

Actually, Harv, I think we can see who is ready to play at this level. Maybe not the best evaluation tool, but some guys look like they belong. I know that sounds like soft logic, but Nelson, Lee, Bishop and White all look like keepers even against the 1s.
They might be freelancing and levaing teammates hanging out to drive, but the speed of the game doesn't faze them.

They need to shorten the pre-season and make the regular one longer.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

The Titans really look like they want this one more than we do. I'm okay with this though. Guys like Lumpkin, Rouse, Lee and Nelson get to prove they have what it takes to play at this level. The guys we're cutting next week are stinking it up, but it's good for everyone else.
Except of course for Flynn and Brohm. They have almost no chance to salvage this game considering the lack of protection and limited receiving options.
Edit: in other words, I agree with pbmax.

We've played the Titans in preseason week 4 several years in a row.
2007 - Tennessee 30, Green Bay 14
2006 - Tennessee 35, Green Bay 21
2005 - Green Bay 21, Tennessee 17 (how did this happen? ARod had a big game)
2004 - Tennessee 27, Green Bay 7
2003 - Tennessee 27, Green Bay 3
Average score - Tennessee 27, Green Bay 13"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
