that is the textbook situation to go for 2. What does 1 give them at all?

You stand a better chance of getting two points by kicking two extra points than by going for two twice. It's just a terribly low percentage play, and Minnesota should be playing assuming that Green Bay can score again and that they need to score another TD to win.

Why? They gave up a big play but have played it pretty tough overall.....

But the thing is, that if they miss the 2-point conversion and they score another TD they have to go for the 2-point conversion again, otherwise Green Bay can win with a FG. You're gambling that you can convert on at least one of two 2-pt conversions and that you can keep Green Bay from scoring at least a field goal. You're better off just kicking the two extra points so a field goal only ties.
