  • Nick Collins

He's been in position, tackled well, hit hard, and even caught something. I hardly recognize him. Don't want to jump the gun or anything but this is now two very good games in a row from Collins. Is it possible that the light goes on this year?

So far he has been impressive, but let's wait until next week to see if he has arrived. The three pronged attack of T.O. Whitten, and Barbre are going to test our safeties pretty heavily.

They'll need to give Al some help over the top against Owens, blanket Whitten over the middle, and give run support against Barbre. If they screw up and leave any of those threats unguarded, Dallas will gouge us.

With Bigby and Rouse both a little gimpy, the pressure will be on Collins. If he makes a play, he could win the game for us. If he has a bad game, he WILL lose the game for us.

So, we'll see whether he's got it soon enough.

I really hate being wrong, but I can accept it on him (and BJack) or any other packer I said won't cut it. It would be great if he consistently shows that brilliance we see flashes of at times.

We traded them a guard to play RB?

Seriously though, if Caleco Bigby ends up not playing, that is not a good thing. Rouse appears to have the sophomore blues.

So much for those bench Collins (or Bigby) for Rouse posts.

              Barber/Barbre stop nitpicking.

I agree we'd be better with Bigby at full strength, but I think we might have judged Rouse too harshly for his play on Sunday. Sure he screwed up on the two TD's by Johnson, but the guy had just sprained his ankle four days before the game. He also made one good play during that 20 yard throw to Roy Williams when Harris was off the field and Tramon forgot his assignment. Rouse was the last line of defense on that play and did his job. So it wasn't a complete bust of a game, and when healthy Rouse should be able to perform.

If Harrell should suddenly show up and play well (granted, it's a longshot); who will be left to criticize? We may need to raise our standards again.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Rouse needs to start playing better or he'll find himself on the bubble at camp next year.

There will always be room for criticism. Until we win a Super Bowl, that will be the criticism. If we win one, it will be "we haven't won two".

There will always be M. Manual, and that 4th round TCU draft pick Rodgers........plenty of stuff doesn't work out. Even on the best teams.

Personally, I will draw the line at 5 Super Bowl wins as a franchise. Should they hit that in my lifetime, it will mean a lifetime free pass from me. That would tie them with the most Super Bowl wins AND give them a nutty, what?, 15 NFL Championships?

TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Nick Collins is playing fast, loose, taking good angles and confidently.

Is Collins contract expiring this year?

                            Rouse needs more consistency.

Collins dad was sick last year and he missed much of the off-season program. Maybe it's a combo of his personal life being in better order and him being prodded by the threat of Rouse taking his job. He said this was the first offseason he was in the off-season program and he feels like it's paying off.

When Rouse came in it was the same thing I remember last year. He takes really bad angles. Guys run right around him and by him. Collins usually just mows them down.
