didnt kenny has a somewhat of a breakout year last year? maybe he will slowly take more of KGB's playing time, keeping KGB fresh when he is most needed on 3rd downs.
I think the 2005 revelation with Peterson is that he is too slow to play defensive end, but effective at tackle.
other recent 3rd round defensive linemen: Cletedius Hunt, Jonathan Brown, Steve Warren, Donnell Washington, Darius Holland
I don't think Cliff is too far off. Favre is THE star on this team. If you compare all other 52 players to him, yep, looks pretty bleak. But, how fair is that?
Of course Favre is the star on the team. Telling me that Favre is the one guy who has eye popping talent is like telling me Halle Berry is the one girl who will catch my eye at a high school reunion. Favre has the kind of talent a team is fortunate to obtain once a generation. Using him as a comparison to the rest of the roster is meaningless.
Franks and Driver are above average talents on the Packer offensive roster. Tauscher and Clifton are also above average talents. There is plenty of talent on the roster if this team doesn't turn the ball over 3 times a game. Cliffy is dead wrong. The level of talent is not the larger issue facing this offense. There is no reason this offense shouldn't finish in the top half of the league rankings if they play smart football.

Wow, leap of faith there, Leaper.
I think Favre threw so many interceptions largely because of the lack of talent around him.
Everybody already has expressed their concerns on OL, WR and RB. It's true, it's a new year, and you never can tell. I can see the OL and RB situation pulling through. WR is more of a stretch. It's a long shot that all three areas will be effective. But possible.

I'm saying that the roster as is...and not depleted to 4th and 5th string guys at skill positions...is plenty good enough to be a solid second tier (8th-16th rated) offense with a QB like Favre leading the team and not making stupid mistakes.
Favre really didn't have all that much more talent around him as he does now when he won 3 MVP awards and led one of the league's most potent offenses. Granted, he not the same QB now that he was then...but he's still good enough to make due with the talent he has around him.
