  • Packers were blown out in second half -

The Packers were blown out by the Colts in the second half:

    Colts - 46 plays
    Pack - 24 plays

    Colts - 214 net yards
    Pack - 72 net yards

Colts - 16:39 time of possession.
Pack - 13:21 time of possession.

Of course, there was the little matter of the Packer offense not being able to get onto the field because the Packer defense kept scoring touchdowns!

This game was a great example of the final game stats not being indicative of what happened in the game:

total net yards was equal, 302 to 302
    1st downs - 24 to 21, Packers
    Offensive plays - 65 to 63 Colts

    Yet, the Packers dominated.

    And we have better uniforms!
Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

You forgot to put up the numbers for turnovers and penalties. :P

Your right, the Colts dominated the Packers in turnovers and penalties too, they committed more of both than the Packers did!!!

The bigger stat is that the Packers had a 2 to 1 time of possession advantage in the first half. That meant that our D came into the second half fresh, letting them get away with being on the field a bit longer in the second half without getting worn down.

mm gets a little conservative with a lead sometimes. he needs to go for the throat.

The defense just can't get off the field when they run back INT's for touchdowns.

How about those second half points?

What was the stat they flashed on the screen? Penalty yards 160 vs. offense 161? or was it interception return yards vs. passing yards. Someone help me out here.

It was after Manning had thrown the pick to Rouse. The stat was that at that point in the game Manning had thrown for more yards to us than his own team. That was hysterical, but it made me feel a little bad for his family that was watching. Only a little though.
