I saw a lot of Twins games there when I was in grad school right down the street, and you could see Thursday matinees games for as little as $3. I loved the air rush on the way out--my wife and I used to call it "The Best Ride at The Metrodome".

Also, if you have ever seen major league baseball at Olympic Stadium--and I did twice--you would look at the HHH Metrodome as the Taj Mahal by comparison.

Another good Metrodome memory: I was at the very first regular season Minnesota Timberwolves game, which was played at the HHH Metrodome. (Target Center wasn't ready until their second year). They opened against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, adn the Wolves opened up a large number of nosebleed seats they wouldn't normally sell as a benefit for the Jacob Wetterling Foundation (whose focus is child disappearances). I got one of those seats, and it felt like I was watching the game from the other side of the Mississippi. But, it was still big fun to be there that night.

And the ugly: A loudmouth jerk who didn't like that I was rooting for the Brewers there against the Twins dumped a cup full of ice down my back, which felt as lousy as it sounds. Lovely.
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

The Badgers block the punt against the Gophers to win the game. I was seated by the endzone and the place went absolutely nuts.

Wasn't there, but I remember that game--one of many ugly Glen Mason era losses for the Rodents.

My favorite Metrodome Moment was the Favre TD record. My dad and 2 of my brothers got to go to the game and we were on the endzone side that both of Favre's TD's were in. It was such an awesome game to be at. All the fans around us were great, even the Vikings fans except for one guy next to me that was pissed off the whole time. Not really sure why . When Favre threw for the record breaker, we tried to get a chant of "421" and it sort of caught on but not enough Packer fans joined it to really get it going.

Sure felt like it, but "I didn't have numbers".

This is what I was going to say. I was in the goofs student section and didn't even feel out of place since about 15% of the people there (in the SS) were for UW. That game was so much fun, and that place is such a shithole.

Tailgating downtown at the Metrodome is great!!

                    The Metrodome really supports tailgating.

Come out and meet the interesting viking fans.

The dumpty dome is the worst place I've ever watched a sporting event... truly awful venue. No point in even going to the games.

Worst thing I ever remembered was when the Darrel Bevell led UW Badgers team went there and lost there only game the one year they could have acutally competed for a National Title. They had the Brent Moss and Terrell Fletcher combo then. They tied Ohio State last year when their Polish Kicker missed a dam field goal.

If they beat that Gopher team they play for the national title. I think I recall the Badgers having at least five turnovers that game and still only losing by one TD.

Honorable mention goes to the Buckley Fiasco. He left his dam WR when Jim McMahon was scrambling with around 30 seconds left to go in the game and McMahon threw the bomb to his WR. Buckley later explained he left the WR because he didn't think Jimmy Mac could still throw that far. I was at that game drinking beer and talking trash through the whole game GB pretty much was in control of. I caught a lot of flack after that play.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Actually, that polish kicker's FG was blocked.

I know; but he kicked it was too dam low. I think it was only a 40 yarder
