Also, Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that the gun fired after Pierce noticed that it was sliding down his leg and then Burress tried to retrieve it. This contradicts reports that the gun went off as Burress was unloading it in the presence of a security guard at the Latin Quarter night club when Burress then bobbled the gun and it fired.

Per Paolantonio, the wound was more than a graze. Instead, the bullet went straight through the thigh.
