Well of course. This isn't surprising at all. Every team goes through this when transitioning from a veteran QB to his replacement. It was going to happen to us also, whether it was this year or next year or whenever. Why is this year worse than any other year? At this point in Favre's career, this was no reason not to have made the trade IMO. In fact, it might be a reason FOR the trade as it wastes one less year of Rodgers' career getting him up to game speed. One less year before Rodgers can establish himself as a trusted leader of this team, much in the same light that Favre was. I mean, Rodgers isn't going to get that aura and presence Silverstein speaks of by holding a clipboard...

haha. Again, it's not that the defense is bad, it's taht they're not inspired by Brett Favre.

This stuff is really too much sometimes. Are we living a dream where stuff like this can be written in the Milwaukee Journel Sentinel and people acctually buy it?

I thought Ruvell said it best at the end but damn, this story was clearly a drama piece intended to stir the pot and sell papers.

I agree, I often have felt like the team really misses Rob Davis out there.

Talk about a load of shit. Rodgers has been fine this season - as fine as Favre last!

The problems on our beloved team are not at QB. What a ridiculous article.

This article is a waste of space. By the way, I understand the comparisons in career paths, but I was watching reply's of Steve Young the other day. Except for the left handed throws, ARod looks a lot like Young back there.

Yes. Ruvell was right. Just because the team is young doesn't mean it has no leadership. You wanna tell me that Al and Charles never do anything to inspire the younger players? I'm sure Tauscher and Clifton have never said a single word or led by example.

                  What a crock of shit.

LOL... some say it is the water in Superior, but I think it is that everyone drives so slow up there... it's infuriating

I have nightmares of living somewhere where everyone drives 25 mph everywhere... that's Superior. Enough to drive you over the edge

The Favre Factor is hard to quantify. The Packers have led in the 4th quarter in 10 of their games, so it's not like they've stopped being competitive. My sense is that if there's been a lack of fire on this team, it's been on the defensive side of the ball. Would Favre had affected the defense that much? Who knows? You would think that with veterans like Kampman, Woodson and Harris, that the leadership would be there. Maybe if the Packers had a healthy Barnett, Bigby, Jenkins and Hawk (I don't think he's healthy), as they did last year, the Packers would have the same record as the Jets and this article would never have been written.

Your last statement sums it up perfectly. As I have said before, McGinn may be knowledageable but he is still an idiot.

EDIT: I need to look closer as Silverstein wrote the article. However my summation of Bob still stands.
