  • Packers pts for and against in the 2nd half of games

I spent the last couple of hours going through the numbers and I took what all the teams have given up in the 2nd half of games and took out all the defensive and special teams scores.

    3rd Q
Packers are 19th with 54 pts scored and 14th with 57 pts allowed

    4th Q
Packers are 17th with 81 pts scored and 31st with 119 pts allowed

    Overall in the 2nd half
Packers are tied for 18th in pts scored by the offense and are 30th in points allowed by the defense

So the Packers are slightly below average in the 2nd half on offense but absolutely dreadful on defense when it comes to points scored/allowed.

For Patler - What 3 teams with winning records do you think have given up more pts in the 2nd half then they have scored? I knew you couldn't pass this up. Oh, and it's only on offensive pts scored and def pts allowed. No def scores or special teams.
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!

Well that 40 or so point difference we have certainly shows why you lose 7 games by less than one score.

Interesting question, and since you have the answer, I'm not going to waste time looking into it. I'm too lazy today!

I will take a guess based on gross statistical information.

Denver has to be one at 8-6. They are -40 in net points ((326 PF, 366 PA).
I would think Miami, too, at 9-4 and only +14 in net points (283PF, 269 PA).
After that it is probably either Arizona at +28 or Chicago at +29.

Just wanted to see if you could come up with them.

Sorry meant to say there were 5
        Denver - 153 for /171 against
        Miami - 121/133
        NY Jets - 148/152
        Atlanta - 112/157
        Chicago - 110/145

Usually one thinks of losing teams having a negative point balance in the second half. I found it really interesting about the Falcons. It's a pretty sizable 2nd half disparity for a winning team.

I got a three right at least!
Denver is really amazing, a winning record while overall being -40 in net points. Over all, not just the second half!
