I don't think the feelings of a 40-year-old QB are going to decide the future of the head coach.

Maybe they want Favre to come back next year, he can still play and gives the Jets franchise a little marketing buzz. But he's hardly a franchise QB now.

But what team would want him, especially at his salary?? Brett would have to take a substantial pay cut. If the Jets want to trade him what team is gonna take a 40 yr old QB who has problems performing late in the season when the weather goes south?

Only if they trade him within the NFC North. They could trade Favre to, say, Kansas City or Tampa Bay without having to forfeit additional picks to Green Bay.

I think Favre calls it quits in a month or two anyway, so I believe this to be a moot issue.
