  • Player Statistics (top 10) - 2008 Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers - 28 touchdowns (4th in NFL)
    - 4,038 yards (4th in NFL)

    93.8 passer rating.............................6th in NFL
16 pass plays of 40 yds or more.........1st in NFL
48 pass plays of 20 yds or more.........5th in NFL
    341 Completions..............................7th in NFL
    63.6 completion pct.........................10th in NFL
    7.5 yds. per......................................9th in NFL
    182 1st down passes.........................9th in NFL

Ryan Grant - 1,203 yards (9th in NFL)

    Greg Jennings
    - 1,292 yards (6th in NFL)
    - 9 touchdowns (8th in NFL)
    - 21 plays over 20+ yards (2nd in NFL)
    - 8 plays over 40+ yards (1st in NFL)

Nick Collins - 7 Interceptions (2nd in NFL)
    - 3 INT touchdowns (1st in NFL)
    - 295 INT return yards (1st in NFL)

    Charles Woodson
    - 7 Interceptions (2nd in NFL)
    - 2 INT touchdowns (2nd in NFL)
    - 169 INT return yards (4th in NFL)
    - 24 Pass Defections (6th in NFL)
    - 3 sacks for CB (1st in NFL)

Tramon Williams - 5 Interceptions (6th in NFL)

Its fun to see how each individual player did stat wise... The one that really stood out was the most was Rodgers... He was top 5 in two major passing categories and many people said he was 'average' this year and put him in the 10-15 category for QB's but yet he put up top 5 numbers...

On defense Charles Woodson had the most top 10 stats our of any Cornerback in the league, but it was truly amazing how much Nick Collins stepped up this season, hes becoming a consistent playmaker (like Woodson).

Thoughts? What was your biggest surprise (for a player) looking back at the season stats?

Cool thread... just think how many picks Collins woulda had if he had just caught HALF of the passes he had his mitts on and dropped...

thanks... I agree though... He would have 10+ INT's if he didn't drop half of them...

The one stat here that is misleading is Grant's. While he had a decent year in terms of total yardage, his ypc was too low and he did not have a top 10 season in my opinion. He never really recovered from his injury.

Here's hoping for a strong offseason of work and a sustained recovery that brings back the explosive burst and cut-back ability he showed in '07, but lacked in '08.

Hawk also seemed to lack the explosive burst and quickness all year that he has demonstrated in the past.

I'm okay with Grant (and Jackson). It was obvious Grant was hurt at the beginning of the year. The thing that was different after that is Grant never really busted any long runs. I see him settling in between the 2007 and 2008 version. He'll be solid. He'll break off a couple more long runs (which will help his ypc), but he won't have as many long runs as 2007.

I like this team's talent at running back, wide receiver, and quarterback on the offensive side.

I'd like to see the Pack go after one more tight end in the draft, and of course an offensive tackle or three.

That would seem to indicate the 19th best QB in the league...I mean, how could you argue with that conclusion??
