Divisional round live game thread

I think Warner's already in, just by virtue of putting up great numbers as well as being a good story and a character guy. I mean, a guy who pays his dues in the Arena league, only gets to play because the anointed starter gets hurt in the preseason, wins the superbowl and the superbowl MVP that year, then the playoffs the next year, loses one of the all-time great superbowls the next year, gradually falls off the next season, moves teams a couple time, is considered washed up and only good as a backup. Then he goes to Arizona to sit behind the hot rookie prospect, ends up sharing play time and eventually beating out Leinart, leads the Cardinals to their first division championship in a long time, and takes the team to the NFC championship. Plus, all the while he's put up really good numbers.

I think that story (with his numbers) is going to get him in.

Plus, I mean, how many QBs playing in the late 90s and early 00s do you put over him for the Hall of Fame? Favre and Manning, but anybody else?

Man, I love these defenses. Great game.

Gotta love the final 4 in the AFC. Tough, hard nosed football teams.

I want the Steelers LB coach to be interviewed for DC. He always has a great unit, even without first round talent.

I was impressed with the Eagles today. I didn't watch this last game as much as I could have. The Steelers look tough from what I saw. The Ravens looked tough yesterday. As much as the QB's are good, it's been all about the defense in the games I've watched. The Cardinals might be the exception but I haven't really watched them play this year so maybe their defense is good too.

The Packers are going to have to get stronger on defense and the OL to go toe to toe with these big boys.

The biggest surprise to me has been the Eagles. They are legit. They're my pick right now.

One thing about the Steelers -- their defensive line is not that big at all. All this talk about a 3-4 and how you need Grady Jackson at NT and how our guys aren't big enough for it and all that ... I don't see it. Hell, I saw two plays today where Pittsburgh had 2!! down lineman and 1 guy in a two point ...

Going back to that "creativity" word again that Tex doesn't understand ... it's not all about blitzing. Confusion and adjustments are a greater factor.

Warner and the HOF is a real interesting question. As good as he has played, its amazing he has played only 100 games, but spread out over 11 seasons. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, just that his career is really a peculiar one.
