  • Taylor Mays staying in school

Just one less person for TT to pick from.

USC coach Pete Carroll said Monday that All-American safety Taylor Mays, cornerback Josh Pinkard and tailback C.J. Gable would return next season.

I say we blow next season and take him #1 overall.

"I would love to have a guy that always gets the key hit, a pitcher that always makes his best pitch and a manager that can always make the right decision. The problem is getting him to put down his beer and come out of the stands and do those things." - Danny Murraugh

makes no sense... projected top 15? I haven't seen a safety to higher then 7-8 in recent memory... He must have got bad feedback from the draft board?

I don't even think Mays is going to be the #1 safety in the 2010 draft (if we have one), Eric Berry may well be better than Mays (though he plays on a much worse team).

If you like school and want to win a championship, there are certainly worse things than staying in Southern Cal. This might cost him money, but if he's got his head screwed on straight (which by most accounts he does), whether he makes $10 million or $40 million on his rookie contract he's probably set for life.
