I didn't watch the game yet, but Rey forced a fumble (one of two turnovers in the game) and had a big time tackle for a loss. Did Raji do anything? Stats surely don't say so, but then again he's an NT. I'll watch it tomorrow and give an eval.

quote on raji: "he didn't dominate in the game"

quote on 'luga and the USC backers: "Everyone already knew Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing were first-round picks, their play this week down in Mobile solidified those thoughts"

Didn't look as dominant as Ellis did last year, but he had some very nice penetration on the goal line on a few plays.

Did you actually watch the game or just change a word or two around in Scott Wright's quote

Watched the game. I'm pretty sure Scott Wright plagiarized me, just like the JSO plagiarized Skin. Two people watching one thing can come to the same conclusion about it independently, after all. I mean, the comparison is fairly obvious. Both Raji and Ellis had great senior bowl practice weeks, and Ellis played his way into the top 10 (people were trading up to get him and he wasn't the first DT taken), Raji may not have. Still, all his notable plays took place on the goal line.

Really, though, this was a pretty underwhelming senior bowl. In the actual game, as far as I'm concerned, nobody really stood out. I thought Cushing played better than Maualuga though, and would be a better fit in our defense (though not a top 10 guy at all.)

There is something to be said about "not putting much stock in the actual senior bowl" since it weird rules limiting how the defense can play (no blitzing, simple 4-3 shell) in order to minimize injuries. According to the NFLN broadcast of the show last night, most scouts actually pay much more attention to the practices than the game for that reason. I recall hearing that the Packers scouts left before the actual game. Maybe Thompson watched it on TV, but I doubt it.
