      Damn.

      Talk about the "sordid details".

Old pals that have gone thru heavy drugs have told me some of this.

Really makes you sick to your stomach.

Big Tony wound up playing the right spot. Even if he could have stayed big, he never was quick enough to play OT in the league. He was a guard, and they don't draft the greatest guard of all time #1 in the draft.

good synopsis of the book - looks like it might be a good read.

The guy has definitely seen and done some shit...

Or Deion. I like mandarich though and I'm glad he got his life on track. How many of us wouldn't do 4 years of roids for a monter signing bonus?

                More from Mandarich.

"I spent four years in Green Bay and never [had] a sober day," Mandarich said. "Every day I was ever in Green Bay I was not sober."

A lot of people can say that I'm sure.

                  Nice read Harv...thanks.

He was interviewed on the Dan Patrick show a couple of weeks ago. He sounded quite upfront about his mistakes. There was no blaming others for his mistakes. He was blunt about saying, "I messed up!"

I agree. He isn't making excuses at all. No accusations about others by names. Just a historical recount of what he did.

Snake's linking up the ESPN story with a quick video here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4073575

To those that said he wasn't fast. Yep, you were wrong. At 6'6" 320 to run a 4.69 40 is insane, then to do 39 reps at 225lb....No one does that shit.

Yes, steroids helped him, but those are still sick ass numbers, and Snake is too lazy to look up his combine numbers, but ALL his numbers were off the charts for just about anyone his size esp. as a dominant OT.

It sucks we didn't get Deion, Barry, Thomas, etc. but it is what it is. No one knew 20 years ago he was a roider when it was unheard of. This franchise would have totally failed though if Wolf/Favre/Holmy didn't step up in 1992 as Mandarich really hurt this team with his failure until then. Imagine a world with Barry Sanders with Wolf/Favre/Holmy...4 SB's in the 1990's...very possible. But alas, Mandarich was failure...at least he's paying his rent for his $400 apt. with a book.
Snake's Twitter comments would be LEGENDARY.........if I was ugly or gave a shit about Twitter.
