He gets a contract for 2 years and $7 Million because of his "breakthrough" season in 2008. "Breakthrough"???? 214/747 a 3.5yds/carry average. Is that any better than the 196/674 (3.4) he had in 2007 for the Bears?

$7 million doesn't buy much in the way of running backs, apparently.

    I'd rather have Samkon.

Maybe the breakthrough was that he wasn't a complete tool in the locker room?

He was playing on what was probably the worst offense in the league last year. The QB was inexperienced, their best WR was injured and ineffective, and the defense wasn't anything to write home about either. So if we project those numbers onto a decent team, he might actually have shown a substantial statistical improvement over his Chicago years. Or maybe he wouldn't have gotten any playing time at all on a decent team.

I think they meant "breakthrough" as in he didn't hurt himself or commit a crime this past season.
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!

If Cincinnati wants to be psych ward of the NFL, I'm happy to let them keep on doing it.
