Per NFL Draft Scout, Walker, who was a non-combine invite, measured in at 6’2”-flat and 242 pounds at Colorado’s pro day. There, he ran a 4.78-second 40-yard dash, a 7.20-second three-cone drill and had a 31” vertical jump. Walker began his career at Missouri as a backup before transferring to Colorado, where he played his final three years. He was a full-time starter in only his senior season.

If I compare the Acme Packing roster projection by Mosqueda, these are the areas of contention.

Acme WR: Sturdivant (pre-injury) looked like he would fill in on Special Teams and help decongest the CB/S roster conundrums

Acme OL: Donavan Jennings has been getting snaps in practice and preseason like he's a chief fill in for the interior

Joe CB: Simpson out on Acme

Joe S: No Perry for Acme

One consideration is that the Packers tend to keep 1 or 2 more defenders than offense in the final cutdown. Acme also expects a roster move the day after to get a third TE on the roster.

Justis Mosqueda makes an argument that if Sturdivant isn't too badly injured, he makes the team as the seventh wide receiver and plays special teams, reducing the need for Jaylin Simpson and Perry. He thinks Hadden makes the team as a backup slot, though he lists Hadden as a "safety." I don't see him as a safety, but as a guy who can play the slot AND outside corner, which gives the team some breathing room. Like you, Joe, Mosqueda thinks the Pack will roster only two tight ends at cutdowns, though he sees them picking up - maybe someone on waivers - or bringing up Dabney or Swinson from the practice squad for game day.

Also hear Aaron Nagler on a podcast saying three things that really stuck out for me: one, Belton's pass blocking is atrocious. Atrocious. Two, Hadden played very very well against the Broncos and seems to be the backup at the slot, as Oladapo has not fared as well there. Three, Marshawn Lloyd is a dancing machine - Nagler was sayng, again and again, that Lloyd keeps dancing in the backfield and not being decisive at all in his decision-making. Maybe that is rust.

Lloyd isn't going to be a pound between the tackles guy like Jacobs. With the run blocking still iffy, its going to be a tough year for Matt's favorite first down plays.

He was raw last year but Belton doesn't seem to have improved in any one area this year. He might not be a candidate to move positions and might need to stay at tackle.

I think Acme and Mosqueda listed Hadden as a Safety as a nod to Gannon preferring to play safety types as his slot CBs.

Sturdivant could fill in on ST and save them a spot at DB for a ST specialist. The possible head injury might wreck that.

I'm not sure any of the backup TEs beside Whyle have shown much promise. Think the 3rd comes from off roster. If they keep Dabney (or bring him back in a day or two as a roster game to not expose more talent to waivers) I'd wager its because other plans were thwarted.

Not a peep out of any body about Jacobs in camp. How he looks. How he's doing, mentally.

I don't see them cutting Jacobs yet - how can you, when your top backups are a guy who hasn't been on the field for more than a few snaps in his two years in the league, and a guy who is a great third-down blocker but quite pedestrian as a running back?

I don't know if anybody has a reasonably talented spare backup tight-end they'd be willing to trade, but teams are generally looking for defensive linemen, and Brooks is on the last year of his rookie deal, so he'd be economical for a team who wanted a one-year rental or look-see.
