Pulisic out today. Likely letting him heal for later round games.
We should have enough depth to overcome this.

I also loved everyone looking up Cape Verde after they tied Spain in a shutout. The Green Cape played lights out defense.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostOnly in top level soccer could a 1-1 tie be considered exciting, but D R Congo tying heavily favored Portugal was awesome.

Only football and basketball are more popular in the U.S. now.
Soccer is far ahead of hockey, and by most estimates has surpassed baseball.

In fairness soccer is a global brand. The others are more USA markets. Its hard to compare a global tournament to a country championship.Originally posted by Teamcheez1 View PostThe USA/Paraguay game had 24.886 million viewers.
The first four games of the NBA Finals averaged 19.6 million viewers.
The 2025 World Series averaged 15.863 million.
Through the first four games of the Stanley Cup Final, the audience averaged 5.0 million.

Hot damn. That many people actually watched what is basically the equivalent of mediocre Wisconsin (USA) vs cupcake Southern Kentucky Confederate State A&M (Paraguay)? Wisconsin wins 72-0 but it gets its ass kicked by pompous programs like Ohio State (Spain) and Georgia (France).Originally posted by pbmax View Post

Put your money on Japan. Ohtani is too damn good.

I bet 24.88M out of the 24.886M viewers reside outside of the US. Soccer appears to be popular in Europe and South America. Btw, I am putting my hard-earned, burger-flipping frogskins on Japan to win the whole she-bang. Shohei Ohtani is too damn good.
Lol @ the NHL. No one other than Canadians and Tony O’Day dig that boring shit.

It was a good series until Las Vegas ran out of gas and decided not to try to improve their mediocre goal tending and the best they could do at a 4 goals per game allowed clip. There weren't a ton of soft goals allowed but Hart wasn't sharp.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostLas Vegas vs Carolina in hockey doesn't draw a lot of casual fans outside of those 2 cities. Get Chicago vs Boston or New York or Detroit and you're talking about a very different story.
