They played a whale of a game tonight. Holy cow I don't remember them ever looking that good on offense.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Hope Pulisic is okay. It's a big dropoff from Pulisic to Berhalter. U.S. has week off between games.

Indeed. I don't know that having just one guy burrow his way in from the wing to the box will work well against better competition, but while there were signs of the old team out there (passes to nowhere. dribbling into turnovers, late and poor passes) they seemed far more capable up and down the roster.

If you can pair that with scoring it could take you some interesting places. If Dest had one better touch after a pass, he scores their fifth goal. I *think* he can do it.

If Reyna can play and not be in his head, so much the better. I didn't think Pepi looked good coming in for Balogun.

Hot tip if you want to watch other non-US games and don't get Fox Sports One or whatever they call their cable offering, you can download the Telemundo app (from NBCUniversal) onto a smart TV box or smart TV and play at least the group stage games gratis/free. Sure its in Spanish but you might get the GOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL! guy as your play by play dude.

Peacock offers the same games from Telemundo but you have to have a subscription.

Unfortunately there are 25 Telemundo apps, one for each city that has a local station. Grab the one with the Copa Mundial logo. Its been a lot of fun to watch so far.

The USA/Paraguay game had 24.886 million viewers.

The first four games of the NBA Finals averaged 19.6 million viewers.
The 2025 World Series averaged 15.863 million.
Through the first four games of the Stanley Cup Final, the audience averaged 5.0 million.

I bet 24.88M out of the 24.886M viewers reside outside of the US. Soccer appears to be popular in Europe and South America. Btw, I am putting my hard-earned, burger-flipping frogskins on Japan to win the whole she-bang. Shohei Ohtani is too damn good.

Lol @ the NHL. No one other than Canadians and Tony O’Day dig that boring shit.

Las Vegas vs Carolina in hockey doesn't draw a lot of casual fans outside of those 2 cities. Get Chicago vs Boston or New York or Detroit and you're talking about a very different story.

It was a good series until Las Vegas ran out of gas and decided not to try to improve their mediocre goal tending and the best they could do at a 4 goals per game allowed clip. There weren't a ton of soft goals allowed but Hart wasn't sharp.

Hot damn. That many people actually watched what is basically the equivalent of mediocre Wisconsin (USA) vs cupcake Southern Kentucky Confederate State A&M (Paraguay)? Wisconsin wins 72-0 but it gets its ass kicked by pompous programs like Ohio State (Spain) and Georgia (France).

Put your money on Japan. Ohtani is too damn good.
